In addition to what Heather posted about lettering, i went onto look at some maybe cheaper options of lettering also. I found a company which is Chelmsford based, just round the corner from Saoirse i believe! They are called fast signs, and they actually make the Vinyl lettering i was thinking of. As ready-to-apply lettering, i don't know how everyone feels about the use of a sticker like method, but they do make them look professional.
They also do illuminations on signs and many other things which could come in handy for other parts of the exhibition maybe. I have quoted them asking what sort of prices we are looking at, and i'll let you know when they get back to me, alternatively failing that i'll just pop down there and ask.
