Visit to Brixton market

Brixton market is a small haven of flavours, smells, dreams and cultures from around the world. Using our senses we walked through the different arcades and traced memories of the past and visions of the near future..Students currently designing their new concepts for Chelsmford market drew inspiration and aspirations from the site..

Thanks to all students from Writtle Interiors that participated in the PartiCity workshop at the Chelsmford Ideas Hub on Monday 15th October 2012.

PartiCity is a digital platform for bringing communities together, enabling people to design their neighborhoods. 

 

Tim McGinley from the University of Reading and Aggeliki Aggeli from WSD -together they make MonsterAttack- presented the platform to the group as a first chance to get feedback on their project.  They also introduced participants to Design Band, a digital tool for collaborative work that borrows a structure from Rock Bands and allows users to post their skills and form new groups that can solve design challenges. 

Unfortunately we ran out of time and we didn;t have the chance to explore Design Band in full extent..We hope to develop Design Band further and set up a cross-course project with WSD students very soon!
